Cookies
A clear explanation of the cookies, local storage, analytics, and similar technologies used on the Technova website.
1. What are cookies and similar storage?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. The website may also use local storage, session storage, and service-worker cache storage. These technologies help operate website features, remember a limited preference, and understand use when analytics is enabled.
2. Technologies currently used
The table describes known use in the current version of the website. Actual duration may vary when a browser or provider changes its settings.
| Name or technology | Category | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| technova-theme | Necessary / preference | Stores the light display mode locally and prevents the interface changing between visits. | Until removed in the browser |
| tn-pwa-controller-reload | Necessary | Prevents repeated page reloads when an installed website version is updated. | Browser session |
| technova_admin_session | Admin necessary | Protects an administrator session only. It is HttpOnly and unavailable to page scripts. | 8 hours |
| _ga | Analytics | Pseudonymously distinguishes browsers to measure users and sessions through Google Analytics. | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<identifier> | Analytics | Maintains session state for the website’s Google Analytics property. | Up to 2 years |
| Botpress Webchat | Functional | May use cookies or local storage to operate the chat and retain context after you open it. | According to Botpress and browser settings |
| Service Worker and Cache Storage | Performance | Store icons, fonts, and public assets to improve loading and update the installed website. | Some assets may remain for up to one year |
3. Google Analytics
The website loads Google Analytics after an initial engagement signal such as a click, scroll, touch, or keyboard use, rather than during the first page display. Once loaded, it may send page, session, browser, device, and approximate-location information to Google and set _ga cookies.
We do not ask the website to send names, telephone numbers, email addresses, or contact-form messages to Google Analytics. Usage information remains subject to our account settings and Google’s policies.
4. AI chat
Botpress files are loaded only after you choose to open the chat button. The chat provider may then use cookies or local storage and technical information to provide the session. Do not place passwords, financial, medical, or other highly sensitive information in the chat.
5. How to control these technologies
You can manage cookies and storage in your browser. Disabling necessary technologies may affect limited functions such as administrator login or installed-site updates.
- Delete cookies and site data through your browser privacy settings.
- Block cookies or JavaScript in the browser if you do not want analytics to run, noting that this may also disable other features.
- Do not open the AI chat if you do not want the Botpress service to load.
- Use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on provided by Google on supported browsers.
6. Changes and contact
We will review this page when we add a provider or change measurement or storage behaviour. If you notice an item not explained here or have a question, email connect@technovagancy.com.
